Is your website on your resolutions list? Lets get it done!
The no resolution resolutions…
Happy new year! By now I am sure the holiday fog has inevitably lifted, kids are back to school, you back to work. All is coming back to normal. At least that is the case with me.
I for one, have never been on for one for ‘resolution’ settings. Yes, I do think of things I want to accomplish during the year but I don’t sit down and create a long list of things I need to accomplish to feel fulfill. For me is more about feelings, how do I want to feel at the end of the year.
I am currently reading Danielle Laporte’s Desire Map and immediately spoke to me! She is all about feelings and not goal settings. I will write a separate blog to review the book, for now I just want to focus on that, on the feeling you want to have this month, this quarter, this year.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think creating resolutions is wrong, it is just not my thing but if it is yours GREAT! you are half way there. For the most part I know what needs to be done, there’s always 3-4 things that need to get done throughout the year. Eat healthier, pay the bills, take that trip, so I have never felt the need to actually write it down.
However this year I AM writing a plan for my business, and I thought this would be a great starting point to the blogs for this month. Here’s the plain reality. If you are starting a new business, you need a website, if you are rebranding, you need a website, if you have had a website for a few years you need a website, so probably having a website is on your resolution list.
Lets not leave it to fate, lets make your website a reality!
As you may have heard, this month I am conducting an in person workshop to create and launch a website in two days. It is an intensive course which will take place in The Netherlands, but I thought what a pity to no be able to work with more people and that’s why we came up with this mini-series that will take you through a more in-depth look on the steps you need to take to actually start planing your website.
So here’s what to expect this week:
Tuesday: we will talk all about the “feeling” of your website, otherwise known as your brand, how to plan it, what to think about what you may need.
Wednesday: All about color. I will walk you through how to find color inspiration and how to find the actual color code to use in your site.
Thursday: will be all about your copy. Why do you need to have it before you get started even if it is not perfect yet.
Friday: we will close this mini-series talking about all things visuals, why is it important to have professional pictures, where to find free resources, how to handle visuals you find online and how to make them look like your brand.
I hope you are ready to get your site up and running once and for all! No more excuses!
